National Schools Competition

Hi I am a Classics teacher at Royal High School Bath (Senior school)
hoping to launch a National Schools Competition for children to write a short Roman Story or Mystery.
The competition could be open to all ages certainly Years 6, 7-11.
Recently, inspired by a talk from Caroline Lawrence, we held our own School competition
which was very successful with some very creative and imaginative entries.

I am sure a National competition would find some very fine young talent and really help raise
the profile of Classics, not to mention literacy. Its all inclusive nature would also be very appealing.
I am hoping to launch from this school in Autumn term with a proposed completion in November.
I can provide you more solid competition details if you are interested in supporting the idea.
Those whom I have contacted so far seem keen !
